The Past

Human stories of not so long ago.

A lot has changed, but the essentials have stayed the same.  The land is claimed as owned by a very few British families.   Pretty much the same families own the land today.  The descendents of the miners who lost their lives are still struggling, by and large, to make a decent life for themselves and their children.  Two things have helped.  A glacial progress toward schemes of social justice (currently into reverse) and the democratisation of sources of information and entertainment through technology.

The internet is the best hope mankind has for the spread of truly good ideas.
